As of the 2010-11 school year, we are in contact with 400 schools and
preschools from all the educational streams – including secular and
religious-Jewish and Arab-Israeli institutions.
Contact with a school is expressed in one of the following ways:
• At least one teacher in ongoing training
• Shared citizenship activities are being held in teachers’ staff rooms
• Shared citizenship activities are being conducted in at least one
classroom (per school)
Cooperation with the Ministry of Education
Program implementation and teacher training are carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education: the Pedagogical Secretariat; the various Age Divisions; the Kremnitzer-Shenhar Headquarters; the Arab Educational Branch; the Administration for Religious Education; the Central, Northern, Haifa, Jerusalem and Southern Districts; and the National Teacher Enrichment Center in Beit Yetsiv, Beer Sheva.
Looking Ahead – MERCHAVIM 500
Over
the next five years, our goal is to incorporate our shared citizenship
programs in 15% of Israeli schools and preschools (approximately 500
schools), which would constitute a major stepping-stone towards the
dissemination of shared citizenship in the educational system as a
whole. _________________________________ Back to top of page
