Let's Talk
The “Let’s Talk” program seeks to develop students’ awareness of being citizens of the country and recognition of the existence of other citizens living alongside them. Acquisition of a basic knowledge of the Arabic language and a knowledge of the Arabic culture are major objectives of this program.
During the program students, from 4th grade to 6th grade, are first exposed to communicative Arabic – speaking and an introduction to written letters. In addition, the program invites pupils to development their understanding of the spoken language through stories and by holding dialogues on ethical issues related to recognition of the ‘other’.
The pupils learn the Arabic language and are exposed to issues of shard citizenship such as – the identity in a name, likeness and differences, family stories, Arab families and my family, identity expressed through clothing, the art of Arabic script, holidays and other significant dates, music and more.
The program includes educational materials for teachers and pupils: a Teacher’s Guide, textbooks, workbooks, practice CD, CD for listening and more. All learning materials are approved by the Textbook Department of the Ministry of Education.
